Plymouth RNLI 2023 Events and Achievements

With 2023 coming to an end we look back at a few events and achievements at Plymouth lifeboat station.

We wound like to thank everyone for your continued support and donations throughout the year without you we could not save lives at sea.

Our volunteer crew have launched on service 139 times this year, carried out training every other Sunday and Wednesday, attended lots of public engagement events and held our annual open day at the Royal William Yard.

We would like to take this time to congratulate Cameron Hicks for passing out as a Severn Class Coxswain, James Scott for passing out as an ALB Navigator, Laura Brooks, Beth Barratt, Abby Williams and Louise Hoskin for passing out as substantive crew. We would like to welcome the next batch of shore crew that have begun their training at the station, welcome to Darren Blight our new Deputy Lifeboat Press Officer, Kristina Majurey Station Visits Officer, Isabelle Jackson Fundraising Treasurer and Richard Benjafield Station Chairman.

Coxswain Mechanic Simon Jeffery would like to add

‘Please all accept our thanks for supporting Plymouth RNLI. I would also like to thank the Crew, Operations Team, Shop and fundraisers for all your hard work and dedication it has been valuable to our success and we are so grateful to have you all on our team. Thank you for your upbeat attitude, collaboration, originality and dedication to the RNLI. Without your selfless commitment this wouldn’t be possible’.
